0.0: Oilers are shutout for the second-straight game after being stymied for 60 minutes by the Wild. We’re back at Rogers Place on Thursday night for a meeting with the Washington Capitals in a big to break this mini skid.
10:55: Bear holds Parise and takes a penalty after getting dump-trucked in the corner. One of those nights where’s it’s not in your favour.
11:09: A couple of whacks from Zach Parise in the crease on the puck that’s jammed against Smith’s right pad, but it stays out.
12:21: Khaira checked hard entering the Wild zone, then Benning blows up Dumont on a half-boards. A couple of big smacks in quick succession as the physicality picks up.
14:14: A giveaway from Nurse is bailed out, once again, by Smith.
16:21: Luke Kunin delay of game, putting the puck over the glass. PP to the Oilers!
19:13: Nugent-Hopkins with the slash. We’ll be shorthanded for two minutes.
20:00: Oilers in need of three as we begin the third period.
SECOND PERIOD
0.0: That’s 40 minutes in the books and the Wild remain up by a trio of goals.
2:19: STONED ON THE BREAKAWAY BY SMITH! Despite three first-period goals against, the netminder is once again delivering for the Oilers.
2:44: Oilers chipping away, but can’t seem to string together any notable chances with the exception of Granlund’s earlier effort this frame.
8:40: Granlund at the doorstep but can’t get all of the backhand as he tumbles over with a Wild defender on him.
12:42: Smith makes the save in tight and gets pushed into the goal, but still keeps it out. Shots are 17-10 Wild as we near the midway point of tonight’s game.
17:50: How doesn’t it go in?! Great passing play by the Oilers leads to Nugent-Hopkins hitting the post, and the rebound comes out to Neal but somehow slides under Stalock and away from danger.
18:01: Devan Dubnyk takes a hard fall in the crease after Manning got tripped up and slid through the legs of the netminder. It looks like he’s going to leave the game and Alex Stalock replaces him.
On the play, Ryan Donato takes an interference penalty to send the Oilers to the power play. All the best to the former Oiler netminder.

0.0: We’ve had better frames. Wild up by three through 20 minutes.
3:14: Blast from the point by Brad Hunt, the former Oiler, makes it a three-goal game. The first power-play goal on the road given up by the Oilers this season.
3:20: Jason Zucker in on a partial break before being hooked by Klefbom, resulting in a power play for the Wild.
4:42: Big save by Smith on Gerald Mayhew, who unleashed a rocket from between the hashmarks.
7:12: Quick two-spot for the home side. On a similar play to his first, Staal finishes his backhand for his second of the game.

8:27: Wild on the board first. Eric Staal collects a bouncing puck in front from Jordan Greenway’s pass from below the red line and backhands it past the sprawled-out Mike Smith. MIN 1, EDM 0
15:17: Teams with three shots apiece, but Wild are pressing early with the majority of the offensive-zone time.
