11:37: Granlund pushes Konecny into the boards, receiving a boarding penalty. Oilers are 2-for-3 shorthanded for the evening.

13:07: Neal makes a great defensive effort to take away a goal from the Flyers. Oilers owning all facets of the ice tonight.

16:20: HOWITZER! Brandon Manning uncorks a heavy one-timer off a saucy McDavid backhand dish. McDavid has his FIFTH point of the night while Kassian grabs the secondary helper. | EDM 6, PHI 1

20:00: The third period has begun.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: The Oilers stave off the Flyers’ early push then unload for three goals, taking a commanding 5-1 lead into the third. McDavid has four points (1G, 3A), Draisaitl has three (2G, 1A), RNH has two (1G, 1A) and Koskinen is up to 27 saves.

1:41: At the other end, Koskinen continues his stellar outing. He jumps out to thwart Travis Konecny’s in-flight rip. The keeper now has 24 saves on the night.

3:34: 100 PERCENT POWER PLAY! Draisaitl backhands a loose puck in from the side of the net after absolute CHAOS erupts in the blue paint. The assist goes to McDavid for his fourth point of the night. | EDM 5, PHI 1

4:54: Carsen Twarysnki goes off for high-sticking. Oilers go back to the man advantage.

5:28: BACK BAR AND OUT! Nugent-Hopkins flexes his silky wrister for goal No. 1 of the year, beating Hart’s blocker to give the Oilers the three-goal advantage. Brian Elliott comes in for relief of Hart. Draisaitl and McDavid pick up the apples as the Oilers are 1-for-1 on the PP. | EDM 4, PHI 1

6:00: Couturier gets two minutes for hooking Zack Kassian in the crease. The Oilers get a chance on the power play now.

7:26: OH. MY. MCDAVID. The Captain stays relentless on a cleared puck, out-muscling Justin Braun then flipping a shot over Hart’s poke check. That’s McDavid’s fifth of the year, with the helpers going to Kris Russell and Oscar Klefbom. | EDM 3, PHI 1

8:11: Sean Couturier curls within the Oilers end, sending a cross-ice pass for Gostisbehere at the net and his shot goes high and wide.

14:21: The Flyers continue to tilt the ice in their favour. Shots are 4-1 Philly in the second.

18:17: Koskinen stands up to Travis Sanheim’s slot wrister. Early pressure from the Flyers causes the Oilers to ice the puck twice in a row.

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: The Orange & Blue get hemmed in their zone late but Koskinen keeps the puck out despite being on his back. A scrum ensues after as emotions boil over. Philadelphia leads the shot count 16-8 but the Oilers lead 2-1 thanks to even-strength markers from Draisaitl and Bear.

5:08: FEED THE BEAR! Ethan Bear accepts a pass from James Neal in the slot and goes glove side on Hart to regain the Oilers lead. That’s Bear’s first of the season, Neal’s first assist and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins fifth helper. | EDM 2, PHI 1

7:34: Shots are 7-5 PHI midway through the opening frame.

12:24: Jakub Voracek deposits Claude Giroux’s rebound from the bottom left circle for the equalizer. | EDM 1, PHI 1

12:51: The Oilers go down a man once again. This time it’s Markus Granlund getting his stick caught in the mid-section of Shayne Gostisbehere for the hooking minor.

14:02: Edmonton’s League-leading penalty kill (95 percent) wins the early special teams battle as Sheahan gets a look offensively and Mikko Koskinen makes a big toe stop at the other end.

17:29: Ethan Bear goes off for hooking. The Flyers’ seventh-ranked PP (28.6 percent) goes to work.

18:47: THE DYNAMIC DUO! Connor McDavid intercepts a puck in the Flyers’ zone then quickly dishes it to Leon Draisaitl at the right wing. He goes far side on Sherwood Park product Carter Hart to pot his fifth of the season. No. 97 and 29 both have 13 points on the season. | EDM 1, PHI 0
