0.0: The Oilers stave off the Flyers’ early push then unload for three goals, taking a commanding 5-1 lead into the third. McDavid has four points (1G, 3A), Draisaitl has three (2G, 1A), RNH has two (1G, 1A) and Koskinen is up to 27 saves.
1:41: At the other end, Koskinen continues his stellar outing. He jumps out to thwart Travis Konecny’s in-flight rip. The keeper now has 24 saves on the night.

0.0: The Orange & Blue get hemmed in their zone late but Koskinen keeps the puck out despite being on his back. A scrum ensues after as emotions boil over. Philadelphia leads the shot count 16-8 but the Oilers lead 2-1 thanks to even-strength markers from Draisaitl and Bear.
5:08: FEED THE BEAR! Ethan Bear accepts a pass from James Neal in the slot and goes glove side on Hart to regain the Oilers lead. That’s Bear’s first of the season, Neal’s first assist and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins fifth helper. | EDM 2, PHI 1

12:24: Jakub Voracek deposits Claude Giroux’s rebound from the bottom left circle for the equalizer. | EDM 1, PHI 1
12:51: The Oilers go down a man once again. This time it’s Markus Granlund getting his stick caught in the mid-section of Shayne Gostisbehere for the hooking minor.
14:02: Edmonton’s League-leading penalty kill (95 percent) wins the early special teams battle as Sheahan gets a look offensively and Mikko Koskinen makes a big toe stop at the other end.
17:29: Ethan Bear goes off for hooking. The Flyers’ seventh-ranked PP (28.6 percent) goes to work.
