3:02: Kubalik slashes Nurse and the Oilers will get an opportunity to cut the deficit in half on the power play.
5:32: Darnell Nurse and Calvin de Haan go off for roughing. The two sides will play 4-on-4.
8:44: Smith sprawls out to rob Dylan Strome on the doorstep. The keeper now has 29 saves on the evening.
10:19: McDavid finds Zack Kassian’s blade in the blue paint but Crawford keeps the puck at bay.
13:28: Khaira takes a holding penalty. Oilers will be shorthanded for the third time tonight.
13:40: Alexander Nylander chases a loose puck and squeaks it by Smith’s 5-hole. Blackhawks take a two-goal lead in the third, | CHI 2, EDM 0
18:42: The Oilers get off to a great start in the third, with the top line throwing everything at Crawford.
20:00: The third period has begun. The Oilers, who have scored 10 third-period goals this season, look to net the equalizer and keep their win streak alive.
SECOND PERIOD
0.0: Kane scores the lone tally of the period to give Chicago a 1-0 lead. Shots in the second were 17-6 Chicago and are 27-18 in favour of the home side.
2:09: McDavid drives hard to the net and the puck crosses the goal-line after the Oilers Captain bumped into Crawford. The goal was immediately disallowed.
3:21: Saad weaves his way through the neutral zone to give himself a partial break, going forehand and hitting the iron.
5:53: Edmonton’s power play continues to stay strong, as the club kills Bear’s minor.
8:55: Ethan Bear goes off for tripping. Oilers back on the kill for the second time tonight.
9:11: Smith gloves down Caggiula’s riser to get a whistle. Shots are now 10-3 Chicago in the second period.
11:04: The Oilers kill Chicago’s power play. Shots are 7-3 CHI in the second, as Smith flashes the leather on Duncan Keith’s point blast.
14:48: Shaw hits Joel Persson behind the Oilers net, causing Jujhar Khaira to mix it up with the Blackhawks forward. Khaira is sentenced to serve a roughing minor. Blackhawks get their first power play of the evening.
15:49: Patrick Kane quickly fires a wrist shot off a faceoff in the Oilers zone and it beats Smith. Chicago opens the scoring in the middle stanza. | CHI 1, EDM 0

FIRST PERIOD
0.0: The Oilers go 0-for-2 on the power play in a back-and-forth first period from Chicago. Shots after 20 are 12-10 Oilers.
3:08: The Orange & Blue go right back to the PP after Andrew Shaw was called for holding.
3:28: Chicago kills Edmonton’s man advantage. Shots are 10-8 CHI near the end of the first.
5:49: Dominik Kubalik gets his stick high on Draisaitl, giving the Oilers and their 41.2 percent power play an opportunity.
5:59: North-South hockey! The Oilers and Blackhawks trade chances, as Jonathan Toews is stopped on a breakaway, Connor McDavid missed the net on one himself and Riley Sheahan’s shot was thwarted by Crawford’s knob.
13:54: Leon Draisaitl intercepts a pass and heads up ice on a breakaway. The forward attempts to go blocker side but was turned aside by Corey Crawford’s blocker.
16:39: Brandon Saad sneaks in from the wing and tries to slip the puck 5-hole but Mike Smith keeps his paddle down to make the stop.
18:17: The Oilers come out with some jump in the Windy City, generating pressure below the goal-line and getting point shots through.
