SECOND PERIOD

0.0: The Oilers put the pressure on late but can’t convert. Shots are 24-19 Edmonton after 40 minutes, with the clubs knotted up at 3-3.

3:03: Kopitar gets two for high-sticking. Oilers get an opportunity on the power play once again.

7:54: Shots are 19-15 in favour of Edmonton more than midway through the second.

10:05: Kopitar finds Brown on the doorstep but Smith puffs his chest to keep it out.

12:02: The Oilers kill Benning’s minor, with Smith’s biggest save coming off a forehand one-timer from the wing.

14:30: Matt Benning gets a slashing penalty. Oilers to the kill.
