THIRD PERIOD

0.0: That’s all she wrote for Game 2, as the Gulls take it 4-1. We’ll see you in San Diego for Game 3 on Wednesday.

1:41: Cracknell ices it and finds goal to all but secure a Game 2 victory for the Gulls heading back to San Diego. | SD 4, BAK 1

2:04: Net is empty for the Condors as they press for another goal late.

5:15: Against the run of play, San Diego counters with Isac Lundestrom ripping a wrist shot glove side past Wells to restore the visitors’ two-goal lead with five minutes left in the contest. | SD 3, BAK 1

7:57: It’s all Condors right now. Jeff Glass, coming in cold at a crucial moment of this game, has to make a good save after Benson’s effort opened up space for Esposito in the slot.

11:09: Relentless pressure for the Condors in the offensive zone after Bear’s goal injected life back into the home side. Boyle is down after an onslaught around his crease, and the netminder is going to have to come off here. Jeff Glass, who made 53 saves last night, comes on in relief.

14:46: CONDORS GOAL! Ethan Bear wires Currie’s half-wall dish through traffic in front and meshes the twine to halve the Gulls’ lead. McLeod gets credit for the second assist, his first point as a Condor in his first game! Back in it with time left for the intensity to wrap up here in the final frame. | SD 2, BAK 1

10:07: Bakersfield looking to establish themselves in this game midway through the second, trailing 2-0 and 18-10 in shots.

15:58: Condors back to the PP after Gambardella is crosschecked by Jake Dotchin.

17:31: Just as that’s said, Cracknell sets up last night’s hero Maxime Comtois wide open in the slot to double San Diego’s lead. Wells was left watching after Cracknell’s pass unlocked Comtois, who tapped in his second of the series. | SD 2, BAK 0

5:21: Both teams fail to take the lead with their first power-play opportunities. Wells is looking sharp early, making another good save for the Condors.

7:54: Christoffer heads to the box for the slash, and the Gulls get their first opportunity with the man advantage.

11:59: Comtois catches Currie with an elbow and will sit for two minutes. The first powerplay goes the way of the Condors!

16:02: Kevin Boyle, whose taken crease duties tonight for the Gulls, is down after taking an errant stick to the head. Worth noting that both backup netminders are in tonight after Shane Starrett and Jeff Glass played 124:20 of hockey in Game 1. Doyle’s shaken it off and we’ll get back to the action.

17:25: Ryan McLeod steps onto the ice for his first professional shift and makes a good defensive play for the Condors.

20:00: The puck is dropped and Game 2 is underway!
